I'm at a dead loss for what to write today. I'm too tired to think.
How about, a "what I did today" entry?
For the
last year or so we get up very early on Sunday so we can meet friends
for coffeee at Peet's. Since Chuck and I work together, we spend most
of our week seeing mostly only each other 24/7. So, at least on Sunday
mornings, we know can count on seeing and talking to some other human
beings. We really enjoy this opportunity to catch up, talk politics
and discuss the books and movies we've seen recently. We're such regulars
at Peet's that the barristas all know us and we don't even have to tell
them what we want.
After that,
we went to the studio because we have taken to working seven days a
week lately uploading books to eBay.
I didn't
work much today though. I did make a small jewelry order which I have
to ship overnight tomorrow. Then, this afternoon I spent some time with
another friend making something for the upcoming Holiday gift giving
rituals. I'd say more about it, but it would spoil it for those who
might read here and might be getting something.
We are
not only making the things, but we are planning their packaging as well.
My obsessive compulsive nature demands a total concept. I realize that
we are spending hours on this, and so we're really not saving anything,
really. But, my friend is just as game to do this as I am, so that makes
it fun, and I enjoy spending time with her. We're already thinking about
what our next project will be.
I just
remembered that I also promised to help my grand daughters make candles
this year, so I have to find some time for that project as well. We
love doing art projects together. I'm their "art gramma."
Last time they were over we made paste paper and then I taught them
how to make little coptic books sewn between boards which they had covered
with the paper. It was great quality time with much good "talking"
time along with the art activity. Their books turned out really well.
One of the girls submitted hers as part of a bid to be considered for
the enriched art program at school. Hope she makes it.
I digress...
but I'm not going to bore you any further to tell you what leftovers
I had for dinner, so that's it for now!
