I think
this is going to be another entry about "My Boring Day."
Updating
everyday for thirty days is a challenge that is a lot harder than I
thought it would be. I have new respect for those online journalers
who do this regularly every day throughout the year. Even the best of
them can have some boring days, but their secret is the ability to write
with skill enough to fool readers into thinking that their days are
not boring after all. Mileage may vary on that skill. I doubt I can
fool you, so on to the pure facts in 50 words or more.
Some of
today I spent researching so that I could write eBay descriptions for
items to titillate the seekers of collectibles, and lure them to bid.
One was this owl plaque made
in Denmark in the 60s. It's not to my taste at all, but apparently that
stuff is collectible again. The second was this group of original German
snowbabies, also not of
enough interest for me to keep. The last was an
electric pasta maker.
The next
exciting event was packing up the sold books to ship. Lots o' fun, I'll
tell you.
Then we
headed off to the Post Office to wait in a long line for the one clerk
who was waiting on people, hoping all the time that the 10 people behind
us did not become an angry mob and throw us out for having too many
packages. Does the post office never plan for Christmas after all these
years?
Now I'm
about to get ready to go to one of the few party/holiday events I attend
during the holidays. A book dealer here hosts a party for his customers
and for other book dealers. We get to see other human beings and chat,
and the bonus is there will be free food and wine. Book dealers are
notoriously hungry folks so we have to get there early.
Therefore,
I must post this now or I'll never make the midnight deadline!
