Today's a catch-up day, so I'm behind and not inspired to write much. Gotta finish my "project" with my friend this evening, so I'm going to give you my requisite 50 words and then scoot right out of here today.

NEWS FLASH! This just in!

My son and his wife will be hosting the Holiday event for our family this year on Christmas Eve. Actually, it's not as if they have never done it before. Back in 2000 they had everyone over and I wrote about that here.

Getting together as a family for the holidays is always problematic because so many other people have to be considered. There's my daughter-in-law's family to consider. Then we have to consider my "X" and his family when dividing the time. With not enough designated holidays to go around, someone always gets the odd day.

Anyhow, because the stars lined up and people's schedules didn't conflict too much, I'll now looking forward to this year's Secret-Santa-Christmas-Eve-Festivus celebration for which I only have to appear with gifts, appetizer and desert in hand.

Two family holidays in a row which I don't have to host.I think I might be in a state of Mom Nirvana!
