Too Bad. So Sad.

Enough of the happy, happy already. Seems like the good of the season has run it's course and the year will still end on an unhappy note.

I spoke to my son in Seattle today and it turns out that they did send our gifts, and they had gotten us just what we wanted, and they even shipped it on time. But, as luck would have it it seems that the package got lost in the mail and it was uninsured. Although I will look on this end and he will look on that end I have serious doubts that the package will turn up.

It made me really, really sad. Ordinarily I would just move on, but I never actuallu put anything on my wish list because I have plenty of things and don't really need much. But this year I really, really wanted this pepper mill. And Chuck could have used the Walgreen's gift card he asked for, too. See, when you are older and you have to take a lot of meds, and with the state of health insurance being what it is in this country, you tend to think of your prescriptions as a luxury item.

Oh well, maybe we will be lucky and the package will be waiting at the post office for us.

I suppose this is the moment to write the yearly summing up, with the hopeful conclusion, but right now I am just bummed, and I am quitting here, and going to bed instead.
